SME Named to Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s SDCE 100 Top Supply Chain Projects for Third Year

June 22, 2017

ATLANTA, GA. (June 22, 2017) – Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the executive’s user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, has selected Spend Management Experts (SME) as a recipient of an SDCE 100 Top Supply Chain Projects Award for 2017. This was the company’s third consecutive year being named to the SDCE 100.

The SDCE 100 is an annual list of 100 great supply chain projects. These projects can serve as a map for supply chain executives who are looking for new opportunities to drive improvement in their own operations. These projects show how supply chain executives and supply chain solution and service providers can drive improvement to help their customers and clients achieve supply chain excellence and prepare their supply chains for success.

“Our goal with 2017’s Top 100 is to shine the spotlight on successful and innovative transformation projects that deliver bottom-line value to small, medium and large enterprises across the supply chain,” said Ronnie Garrett, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive.

Spend Management Experts was engaged by a well-known e-retailer that had contracted its fulfillment services to a third party logistics (3PL) provider and was experiencing significant service failures. In addition, there was a penalty clause within its agreement if a transition was made to direct carrier contracts. SME was able to provide the e-retailer improved service commitments, while saving money for the client without any interruptions to the operation. Overall, more than 20 percent in savings was achieved across freight and fulfillment.

“Being named to such an esteemed list is confirmation that our tailored supply chain strategies are making a significant impact on our customers,” said John Haber, founder & CEO of SME. “We are pleased to accept this award for a third year and look forward to continuing to provide exceptional service to our clients.”

“The selected projects can serve as a roadmap for supply chain executives looking for new opportunities to drive improvement in their own operations. We congratulate all of our winners for a job well done,” added Garrett.

The complete list of 2017 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 is available on sdcexec.com and will be published in the June 2017 issue of Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine.
