Spend Management Experts Introduces a New Look

July 17, 2019

A strong supply chain is one that adapts to environmental changes – both macro and micro. Good business practices do as well and we at Spend Management Experts (SME) have done just that by tweaking our services, message and a new website.

Our services and approach have not changed but what we have found when working with clients is that optimizing transportation spend goes beyond just the shipping cost. It also involves distribution and fulfillment spend, particularly as consumers and businesses require faster deliveries. As a result, we have incorporated distribution and fulfillment even further into our cost modeling analysis tools. Our value proposition for many projects, however, remains the same: SME can offer a Zero-Risk fee model.

Our messaging incorporates these changes but our goal remains the same, to help large shippers optimize spend across their supply chains by reducing transportation, distribution and fulfillment costs by 20% or more.

SME the Leader in Logistics

As thought-leaders in the market, we continue to embrace and share our research and analysis. As part of this, we have created a timeline that shows how the small parcel market has changed over the past 18 months. Historically, rates and surcharges were announced annually but now it is happening throughout the year. Our timeline has captured these announcements and we will continue to update it.  Additionally, where applicable we have pointed the reader to blog posts, bylines and interviews for additional information. We believe knowledge is not only powerful but necessary in order to maneuver through an ever changing market. As good partners, we share our knowledge and market analysis with our clients.

SME Timeline

SME’s President of Sales & Marketing, Kim McQuilken, who led the messaging and website changes, said:

“As the paradigm continues to change within the logistics market, we believed we needed to as well. While we were already addressing many of these needs on behalf of clients, our website and messaging did not convey this succinctly so we undertook this project to clearly showcase our skills and capabilities.”

We encourage you to visit our new website and let us know what you think. While you’re there, check out the Thought-Leadership section as well as our Philanthropy endeavors.

We are more than just a logistics business. We are a thought leader in the industry and we care about our community and those that are close to our hearts.
